Mechanism  Pa-MAP could possible interact with the viral envelope and the phospholipids of the viral surface, due to the presence of hydrophobic amino acid residues.22 According to such data, further tests were performed in this study to define Pa-MAP’s antiviral mechanism of action. It was verified that this peptide has a virucidal action,like most antiviral peptides described in the literature,13 inhibiting the virus’ action before adsorption, at a percentage above 80%, reinforcing the theory presented by Migliolo et al.,22 and the SI was higher than 5 considering the CC50 at 400 mg.
