General Information

DRAVPR ID  DRAVPR0025

Name   Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3(IFITM3)

Sequence

Sequence Length  133

Source  Homo sapiens (Human)

UniProt ID Q01628

Gene IFITM3

Activity Information

Target Organism  HCV,SARS-CoV-2

Activity

  • [Ref.26354436]Hepatitis C Virus(HCV):inhibiting the late stages of HCV entry, possibly in a coordinated manner by trapping the virion in the endosomal pathway and targeting it for degradation at the lysosome.
  • [Ref.33270927]SARS-CoV-2:IFITM3 likely restrict SARS‐CoV‐2 infection by mechanically disfavoring viral membrane fusion reactions occurring at endosomes.

Structure Information

PDB ID  None

Predicted Structure Download  AF-Q01628-F1

';

Modification  ①Phosphorylation of Ser at position 20.②The Cys at position 71,72,105 indicates S-palmitoyl cysteine.

Comment

IFITM1, IFITM2, and IFITM3 primarily act on the early stages of HCV infection.IFITM3 exhibits both anti‐ and pro‐viral effects against SARS-CoV-2, inhibiting endocytic entry of the virus while also enhancing virus fusion at the plasma membrane.Active against multiple viruses, including influenza A virus, SARS coronaviruses (SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2), Marburg virus (MARV), Ebola virus (EBOV), Dengue virus (DNV), West Nile virus (WNV), human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV)
